When you want to read a Japanese book in Taipei, you had better go to Eikan Kokusai Shokyoku at Chung Shan North Road Section 1 --- I am sorry but I do not know the Chinese spelling ( PIN YIN romanization ) of this shop. Eikan is owner's name in Japanese romanization, Kokusai means international, and Shokyoku means bookseller. This bookseller is well-known because guidebooks carry the shop that Kyu Eikan --- sorry again, Kyu is his family name in Japanese --- who is called God of Moneymaking in Japan. You will see that there is a great demand for Japanese publications in Taipei. When I read a few pages of Japanese textbooks, I found some unnatural Japanese.
But, you may want to see Taiwanese books even though you could not understand Chinese, since you go to Taiwan. In case you want to do, I think you had better go around Chung Ching South Road Section 1 in Taipei. To tell the truth, a front desk girl of a hotel told me there.
